Misaligned teeth, malocclusion and overcrowding issues can do more than leave you feeling self-conscious about your smile’s appearance. As time goes on the unhealthy relationship between multiple teeth in your bite pattern can lead to increased risk of suffering chipped teeth, dental fractures and chronic problems with dental attrition.

Fortunately, our orthodontist, Dr. Justin Warcup, can help correct misaligned teeth by installing traditional braces. This functional system incorporates metal brackets, wires, and other pieces of orthodontic hardware.

Once they have been installed in your mouth you will need to return to North Texas Smiles for regularly scheduled adjustment appointments. Each of these sessions will tighten your braces to gradually improve the alignment of your teeth.

If you aren’t comfortable with braces hardware appearing when you smile Dr. Justin Warcup can apply a ceramic glaze to the components. This special material can be shaded to match your natural tooth enamel. This provides braces hardware and will have less visual impact.

After your teeth have attained their correct position he can remove the orthodontic components. At this point Dr. Justin Warcup will provide you with a retainer. Wearing it in your mouth at the specified times will help hold your teeth in place while any latent tension in your periodontal sockets gradually dissipates.

If you live in the Fort Worth, Texas, area and you have alignment issues with your teeth you should call 817-732-9341 to set up a braces consultation at North Texas Smiles.
