If you want your baby to have a top-notch oral health, then you have come to the right blog. Today, our dentist, Dr. Justin Warcup, is happy to give you the tips you need to help your baby have the strong and healthy teeth and gums they deserve. Those tips are to:

-Wash their gums after each feeding when they don’t have teeth yet (You can do this by using a clean, wet washcloth to wipe the gums.)

-Clean their little chompers when they grow into place (All you need to do is use a child-sized soft-bristled toothbrush and child toothpaste that is safe to swallow. Use these tools to brush your baby’s teeth twice a day.)

-Bring your baby to our office around their first birthday (This appointment can benefit you and your baby because it allows your baby to get used to the dentist’s office and it allows us to give you the tips you need to care for your baby’s teeth and gums.)

-Don’t let your child fall asleep with a bottle of milk (This is recommended because if you give them a bottle of milk when they go to bed, it increase their chances of having baby bottle tooth decay.)

-Make oral hygiene fun (You can do this by playing a game or singing a song while you brush your child’s little chompers.)

-Don’t worry about flossing their teeth until our dental team recommends flossing (This is recommended because the teeth are still far enough apart from each other that the brush bristles can clean between the teeth when you brush.)
